Knowledge systems · 2026

A personal knowledge base that Claude writes to as it works, so nothing has to be re-explained.

Every Claude session, on the laptop or the phone, ends by logging what happened into a Markdown vault synced to GitHub. Built on Tolaria, an open-source Markdown vault app; the vault's conventions and the logging pipeline around it are mine.

Why it exists

Chat assistants forget. Each session starts from zero and nothing compounds. This turns the sessions themselves into a searchable, linked record that the next session can read first.

What it does

  • Sessions in Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile all write structured log entries into the same Markdown vault, which is a GitHub repo and the source of truth.
  • A small pipeline makes phone sessions work: they insert into a Supabase queue, and a Vercel webhook (Next.js and Octokit) commits them to the vault repo, writing files one at a time to avoid Git SHA conflicts.
  • The vault's rules live in an AGENTS.md (frontmatter types, wikilinks, index and log upkeep), so any agent that opens it follows the same conventions.
  • Runs entirely on free tiers, and the project pages behind this portfolio are written into it.
